Apple MacBook Air 11-inch Review

air

The Apple MacBook air is an extremely thin and powerful laptop that is powered by a 1.8 GHz Intel core i7 processor, with a 256 GB hard drive and 4 GB of RAM.

Retaining its unibody design (consisting of one aluminum piece) the new 11-inch MacBook Air does not include any components that could be easily damaged, and is therefore extremely durable for its size. Being 192 mm deep and 300 mm wide this laptop is almost unrealistically thin. At a surprising weight of 1.08 kg, this MacBook Air still manages to carry various ports including two USB 2.0 ports, headphone and speaker jacks, and a Thunderbolt port.

The MacBook Air 11-inch has a multi-gesture touchpad that incorporates several powerful functions, including pinch and zoom, and circular motion navigation. With the ability to easily playback 1080p footage while also running several resource-intensive software, the MacBook Air 11-inch is the perfect solution for someone that needs to multitask on the go. It should be noted that an external display would be needed to view full 1080p video, as the integrated 1366 x 768 pixel screen is simply not large enough to output full 1080p natively.

Equipped with the OS X Lion operating system, the 11-inch Air is perhaps one of the most efficient in its size range. The keyboard is comfortable to use and is fully compatible with a plethora of hotkeys that provide convenient media, screen display, keyboard backlight, and quick access controls to expedite nearly every command. With a battery life of approximately 5 hours and a highly efficient power adapter, the MacBook Air 11 inch is competitively portable.

Overall, if you’re looking for a powerful and portable laptop the Apple MacBook Air 11-inch may be an ideal solution. However, if you are interested in viewing media directly on your laptop you may want to consider the 13-inch model instead.
